Charity Ball 2012
Our 14th Charity Ball will be a
Black Tie & Tiara Ball and will be held on Saturday 17th March 2012 at
St. John's Hotel, Solihull, B91 1AT
The ticket price is £35, to include a drinks reception, three course
meal and dancing to live music by "The Dollars".
The event will be in aid of the local Get Ahead charity, an independent cancer charity based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham.

Peace Poster Competition Winners
Each year Lions hold an international peace poster competition for young people with entrants progressing through local, regional, national and international finals. Marston Green Lions take part in this competition and our winners this year were, in 1st place, Lauren Stone with Jessica Stone (no relation) and Samuel Berry as runners up. The winner receives a certificate from Lions Clubs International and a £20 voucher and the runners up each received a £10 voucher. All of the winners were from CTC Kingshurst Academy and Lauren (on the left) and Jessica are pictured below with Lion Pauline Hoogerwerf who presented the prizes. Unfortunately Samuel was not in school for the presentation. We will shortly be looking for schools to take part in this year's competition.

Marston Green Lions Supporters Club
We have now formed a supporters club, a group of people who help us out from time to time without becoming full members of the Lions Club. Members of the supporters club are welcome at all our social events and membership is free. All we ask is that our supporters help us out at 3 or 4 events during the year. Charity Ball 2011
Last year's Charity Ball was
held on Saturday 12th March 2011 at the Holiday Inn, Coventry Road,
Birmingham B26 3QW. It included a 3 course dinner and
entertainment from Robbie Williams tribute act, Ollie Hughes. The charity
supported was St Basils a
local charity working with young children to prevent homelessness.
30 Years, 30 Good Causes
In recognition of 30 years of service we were looking in 2007/8 to support 30 good causes.
This support was in a number of ways not just financial and more details of the causes can be found here.
Although our thirtieth year is now passed we are still here to help.
We may be able to offer manpower or we could run our fund-raising stalls at your event.
If you have an event to organise we may be able to offer advice and support.
