Would you like to help your community or those less fortunate than yourself? Would you like to find out more about your local Lions Club? Then why not come along and meet us, Marston Green & District Lions on Saturday 23rd January 2010. We will be at the new Asda in Chelmsley Wood between 1.00pm and 3.00pm and would love to meet you. We will also be collecting your unwanted spectacles so please bring them along and find out what will happen to them!
Charity Ball 2010
This year's event will be a Spring Ball on Saturday 6th March at the Strawberry Bank, Meriden in aid of the Alzheimer's Society. Further details can be found here

Christmas 2009
Many thanks to the residents of Chelmsley Wood and Marston Green who generously supported our 2009 Christmas Collection to the tune of around £2,900. Thanks also to the staff and customers of Blooms Garden Centre, Hampton in Arden for their donations.

Having arrived on 4th December, Santa was at Blooms Garden Centre, Hampton in Arden each weekend up to Christmas
What a load of rubbish!
On a wet and extremely windy Saturday
morning in November, Marston Green & District Lions club
and 5 members of the public (including 8 year old David)
were to be found picking up litter around Marston Green.
This proved to be quite a challenge given the poor
weather conditions but this did not deter anyone, and
the rubbish bags were quickly filled as can be seen from
the photos that were taken at the end of the morning.
The Lions would like to thank Norman, Anne, Kathryn,
Sarah and young David for responding to their request
for help, and we look forward to seeing them again at
the next litter pick.

We are currently looking for service minded people, who don't mind a little fun, to join us.
30 Years, 30 Good Causes
In recognition of 30 years of service we were looking last year to support 30 good causes.
This support was in a number of ways not just financial and more details of the causes can be found here.
Although our thirtieth year is now passed we are still here to help.
We may be able to offer manpower or we could run our fund-raising stalls at your event.
If you have an event to organise we may be able to offer advice and support.
